BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: NYCRC is a multi-genre music camp open to kids of all skill levels. It's a volunteer-powered week of music, creativity, and making noise--a safe space of radical self-expression, collaboration, and performance, where young people are empowered to trust themselves, their voices, and each other. Group instrument instruction includes voice, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. Afternoon workshops include songwriting, recording, do-it-yourself band promotion, and music photography. All campers form a band and work with two band managers to compose a song, which they perform at the showcase on Sunday.
