CAMP FACILITIES: For the 1-week camp and the first 2 weeks of the 3-week camp, we meet at Cap21 Rehearsal Studios located at 18 W. 18 St, NYC. During the last week of camp, we move to the Under St Marks Theatre at 94 St. Marks Place (8th St) in the E Village for rehearsal and the final performance of the musical.

No auditions, just the desire to learn a favorite role from one of the great musicals such as Wizard of Oz or Annie and to perform it at an Off Broadway theatre.

CAMP FACILITIES: Over 25 sleeping cabins, a large dining hall, Day Camp Cabin, huge swimming pool, and on-site infirmary all nestled on 125 acres of woods, fields, streams and ponds.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: (open to campers 15-16 years of age) Are you looking for a way to have a positive impact in your community? Are you thinking of a future career working with children? The Counselor in Training (CIT) program could be just the thing for you! Many of our counselors started out as CITs themselves.

This two-week program allows CITs to gain practical experience working with campers by assisting counselors during classes, afternoon recreational activities, evening programs, and in cabins. Not only will CITs get hands-on leadership experience, they will also attend workshops from Directors and other leaders at camp on a variety of topics such as behavior and risk management, interviewing tips and managing stress – to name a few.

CITs successfully completing the program will be considered for hire in 2016. CIT campers must attend two consecutive weeks. Housing and supervision is not available over the weekend, requiring CITs to return home.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp takes place on Columbia University's campus. Campers use its Division I athletic facilities including two gyms, squash courts, track, dance studios, pool, and lawns. Cubs Camp is an excellent place to expose young campers to Columbia University Athletics!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Little Lions Camp is a kid-centered, fun-based day camp that’s main focus is keeping kids physically and creatively active. Programming features an ever changing combination of classic PE games, backyard favorites, sports, arts and crafts, and special surprises to keep kids happy, active, and engaged. A highly-trained, eclectic staff, that utilizes physical education teachers, athletes, camp veterans, creative types and child care specialists, ensures that games are always changing and that counselors can tailor programming to fit children’s needs and likes.

What is kid-centered programming? Kid-centered programming means our camp staff plans daily programming with the kids likes and dislikes in mind, but daily schedules might change based on camper preference. Wednesday at 2 o’clock might mean a trip to the track, but if the campers vote to play capture the flag for the third day in the row, our counselors are trained to be flexible and receptive. Little Lions Camp is about promoting a safe, welcoming environment that allows kids to participate in the activities that engage them the most.

What is fun-based? Our camp isn’t about shooting the perfect basket or running the fastest in a relay, it’s about being active and trying new things while having fun doing both. Staff will recognize children’s skills and achievements, but our goal is to promote fun and positive relationships.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our nurturing staff, typically current and former Green Ivy teachers along with returning camp staff, provide a caring and supportive environment and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere to facilitate connection and friendship. We use a maximum ratio of 5 children to 1 staff member. In the early weeks of camp, we use smaller ratios to support optimal health and safety practices and to nurture campers as they adjust to a new experience. Children are in groups of 5-10 campers and generally grouped by age.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a lake, three swimming pools, large ball fields, a garden and a farm, a playground and separate courts for tennis, basketball, street hockey and volley ball. Our Outdoor Adventure program has special locations for climbing walls, obstacle/rope courses and zip lines. We have a series of individual workshops and studios for dance, music, theater, ceramics, wood, graphics, sculpture, photography, weaving and art.

These provide the opportunity for every child to discover the special satisfactions of creativity. There is a fully equipped indoor gymnastics center and a fencing shed. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Laurel Project program, designed for children, will encourage students to learn the Chinese culture and language in a creative and participatory environment. Instruction takes place both indoors and outdoors in the heart of Chinatown, surrounded by colorful shops, markets and wonderful restaurants. The objective is to engage students in an intimate and fun setting, to teach Mandarin Chinese as a vehicle for cultural self-expression, rather than present it as just another subject to study. During the summer, activities focus on simple Mandarin conversation, writing, songs and games.

Students will interact with fruit vendors, shopkeepers & waiters when we shop for fruits & vegetables in the markets, try out snacks, desserts & beverages in a teahouse, and order delicious food & dim sum in the restaurant. Lessons include counting, colors, fruits, vegetables, foods, snacks, desserts, beverages, clothes, how to use chopsticks, and Chinese restaurant etiquette. Laurel Project students will also learn how to make some simple Chinese dishes in the classroom. Outdoor activities include Chinese jump rope and other games in the park, plus shopping, museum and bookstore trips as well. *All outdoor activities will be accompanied by two adults *

Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. Throughout the week, players will be put in a competitive environment that will bring out their very best. Players will be exposed to the four dimensions of training, Physical, Technical, Tactical and Psychological. In our unique evening competitions, players will have the opportunity to compete against other teams, other players and themselves.

4) College Prep Academy - Our goal is to provide an incredible environment where serious soccer players will be exposed to the highest level of instruction in anticipation of playing at the highest level possible. High Performance Seminars will be led by trusted experts in their field and will include: Sports Nutrition, Soccer Specific Conditioning, ACT/SAT Preparation and Sport Psychology. CAMP FACILITIES: Our historic facility was built in 1929 and is home to a recently renovated 145-seat proscenium theater where campers rehearse and perform showcases for friends and family. Campers swim in our facility’s heated pool under close supervision from swim instructors, camp counselors and lifeguards. Visual arts activities occur in the Arts Annex, and campers utilize multi-purpose rooms throughout the YMCA for instruction and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Arts Camp's 2018 theme is ART AS ENERGY. "Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in a body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power." (Leanne Holitza). This summer, we will focus on 4 energetic centers in the body and how these energy centers may inspire artistic expression, creativity, and community. We will begin at the naval center with an exploration of courage, determination, and commitment. Next, we move to the heart to explore harmony, peace, love, and compassion. Third, we move to the throat center to explore communication, self-expression, listening, and truth. Finally, we land on the 3rd eye, where campers will meditate on intuition, vision, wisdom, balance, and curiousity.

On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater. Throughout the summer in all 4 art forms, students explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art as it relates to the summer's over-arching program theme. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This week long summer day camp will help aspiring young musicians to become a singer-songwriter on guitar. Participants will have 3 different workshops throughout the camp. In addition to guitar workshops to improve his/her techniques and music theories, participants will have singing workshops to learn how to singing skills. Furthermore, song writing workshops will help them understanding how to express their ideas and emotions through lyrics. Participants will have an opportunity to perform their own music at the end of the week. In addition to music, we will have outside activities!

Absolute beginner guitarists are welcome.
Students must bring their own acoustic instruments.

It is our goad to offer music classes where all child can develop genuine love for music. Because I know that when kids enjoy, nothing can stop them. We carefully designed this program for children to enjoy every step of learning and improve their guitar, singing, and writing skills. Kenji Haba, guitar
Kenji is a founder of Willan Academy of Music, formerly known as Studio K. The eastern and western cultural experiences influenced him to be a unique and creative teacher. Kenji was raised in Japan, and came to US in 2001. Kenji believes that the learning of music is not simply to develop musical and technical skill, but to help develop students’ character through the study of music.

He is Suzuki trained guitar teacher and has taught various style of music, from Rock to Classical. Also, he teaches all ages from beginners to advanced levels. Kenji has taken a workshop with Michiko Yurko, the founder of Music Mind Game , to teach students music theory with tons of fun.

Kenji received Master of Music in guitar performance from Manhattan School of Music in 2009. He is an active performer of contemporary music, with over 20 pieces of music written for and premiered by him, including works featured in classical guitar magazines in Japan as well as the US. He found an award-winning guitar-cello ensemble, Duo Anova with cellist, Susan D. Mandel. In 2014, Duo Anova won an award in SMIA chamber music competition. At the same year, Duo Anova made its debut at prestigious Carnegie Hall presented by Composer’s Voice.

Allie Glassman, creative writing/singing
Allie received her Master’s degree in Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Allie is very passionate about teaching music to students of all ages. She has taught early childhood music classes at Hoboken Montessori School and Garden Street School of Performing Arts. She has been teaching private voice lessons for many years, and also teaches guitar, piano and ukulele.

Allie Glassman is a singer/songwriter on the NYC music scene. She enjoys sharing her stories through a unique blend of jazz and pop music. Allie’s style has drawn comparisons to the likes of 60’s pop artists, and jazz singers such as Norah Jones Allie has appeared at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Electric, and Pete’s Candy Store.

Allie graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, with a BFA in Vocal Performance.

CAMP FACILITIES: At 200 feet, the Oliver Hazard Perry is the first ocean-going full-rigged ship to be built in the U.S. in over 100 years. It is the largest civilian sail training vessel in America. She has berths for 49 people overnight, and with 17 crew, a low camper to crew ratio creates a safe and fun environment. The ship is equipped with a steel hull, 3 masts, with square sails on all three masts, 20 sails totaling 14,000 square feet, and 7 miles of rope and wire. The engines run on a bio-diesel blend, and the ship is equipped with a modern galley (on-board kitchen), central air, an on-deck science lab, a library and wheel-chair accessibility above and below decks.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With 17 professional crew and a capacity for 30-34 campers, our program promotes a dynamic and safe learning environment with a 2:1 ratio of campers to instructors. Campers will feel the thrill of steering a 500-ton ship, and learn to work the yards and sails while exploring the beautiful coasts of New England. They will learn safety at sea and perform important safety drills while acquiring skills in navigation, seamanship, sail handling, knots, and the language of the boat. Campers will explore the underwater world through snorkeling. They will understand wind, waves, tides and the ecology of sandy and rocky seashores. Sunsets, sunrises and the night sky will serve as the backdrop for this incredible experience, in addition to marine phosphorescence, dolphins and whales. Teamwork is an integral part of success onboard the boat, and in addition to learning about themselves, and achieving things they never imagined, they will make friendships to last a lifetime.

Campers will take responsibility for themselves and their fellow shipmates, learning to work as a team with others as they hoist and brace the yards on the ship's 130-foot tall rig and apply acquired navigational skills to guide the ship's course on a voyage of discovery.

This week-long sleep-away program is designed to be a fun and transforming experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. YEA Camp New York will have two concurrent sessions! One session for teens with a variety of causes, and for the first time ever, a separate session for teens interested in animal activism (and what better location than a Farm Animal Sanctuary!).

Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues. Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Clover Patch is a summer camp for individuals with disabilities where each camper is encouraged to reach his or her fullest potential. Since 1965, Clover Patch Camp has provided individuals with disabilities opportunities to make new friends, create everlasting memories, and experience a genuine camp setting.

Clover Patch Camp is operated by the Center for Disability Services, a non-profit organization consisting of a wide variety of programs designed to serve individuals with disabilities. Camp is located 30 minutes northwest of Albany, New York, in the town of Glenville. Serenaded by the constant trickle of the Alplaus Creek, it is home to nature trails, rustic cabins, and a heated swimming pool; all fully accessible.

Clover Patch Camp is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and is required to be inspected annually. Inspection reports are on file at: New York State Department of Health.

Clover Patch Camp offers programming that is typical of any summer camp.

From our accessible nature trails and rustic cabins to our heated swimming pool, every part of Clover Patch Camp is designed for inclusion, independence, and joy.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor's in Training (CIT)

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

Our goal is to not only teach students the principles of the performing arts in a conservatory type setting, but also help them discover truth and meaning along the way. No matter which direction they may take in life. All classes are led by theater or design professionals with years of experience in the performing arts industry.

Our Executive Director, Rema Webb, is an 18 year Broadway veteran. She is currently appearing on Broadway in The Color Purple. Her most recent credits include: A New Brain at City Center and Violet at Roundabout Theatre starring Sutton Foster. Rema appeared in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live performance starring Carrie Underwood. Additional movie credits include: The Oksana Baiul Story, Sudden Death, Beloved, and First Born.She has been a member of Disney’s The Lion King since 1999 and is an Original cast member of The Book of Mormon. Her Broadway debut was in the 1998 production of Ragtime.

Our Managing Director, Daniel Siford, has served as a director, teaching artist, artist in residence, and guest artist with theater schools, professional theatre companies, and dance companies up and down the east coast. The list includes reputable organizations such as The Rugby School, Two River Theatre Company, Act One Theater School, and Play Group Theater. Additionally, he ran summer camps for the McBurney YMCA (NYC) for three consecutive years. He spent several proud years working in various capacities at the NYC office of the American Indian College Fund. He is currently involved with creating and implementing a new training program for staff and foster parents in Family Foster Care/Therapeutic Family Foster Care programs at the largest child welfare agency in the state of New York. Danny has a bachelor’s in musical theatre and a master’s in psychology. Daniel’s engaging personality and authentic spirit has allowed him to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and families, his proudest accomplishment to date.

What makes OnBroadway-PATP special is the infusion of amazing Master Class teachers the program has available. Each On Broadway PATP program incorporates a Master Class teacher or artist. The array of Master Teachers includes Broadway Directors, renowned Playwrights, Industry professionals, and more! They are a group of folks who have devoted themselves to a life that encompasses performing arts, strength-based practices, and self-expression.

What is a Master Class?
A Master Class is a class given to students of a particular discipline by an expert of that discipline. Master classes are intertwined within all of our programs. On Broadway PATP is dedicated to providing the best Master Classes that NYC has to offer.
All of our Master Classes, which take place twice weekly are open to parents. Drop in Master Classes are available to parents and students at $40 per class.

Through mentorship and support, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow. On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program is the best training a kid can get for the stage and for life!

Each week includes daily instruction in all aspects of the performing arts. Daily curriculum implementation includes (all age appropriate):
Theater – Improvisation, Scene Structure, Theatre History, and Methods of Acting
Music - Music Theory, Ensemble/Solo Singing, and Rhythm
Dance - Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theater
Theatre Arts - Production design, management, and implementation.

Summer Camp includes a Dance partnership field trip to the New Victory Theatre.

THE FINAL SHOWCASE
Each program will culminate with a professional performance with live musicians and state of the art design in a 220 seat theatre located in Riverside Theatre.

Only children who participate in 4 or more weeks of summer program are eligible for a leading role in summer shows. Auditions for roles will take place prior to the first day of the program. All others will be considered for ensemble roles only and welcome to participate!

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Week One will focus on preparing students for what it takes to be the best you can be at an audition. Students will learn how to choose and absorb material, and be given the opportunity to audition for program directors and a panel of other industry professionals. The audition will take place on the last day of week one in the afternoon. AM classes will include music, dance, and acting classes and PM schedule will be geared towards preparing students for audition. Audition pieces will be assigned unless otherwise agreed upon by program directors. A resume workshop will also be included in this week. This week is great as a single week or as part of the whole package.

Week Two focuses on performance based methods and techniques. Students will learn acting principles of Meisner, Stanislavsky, and Method Acting. They will participate in creative and educational music classes led by our professionally trained music director. Our accomplished dance director will challenge them on a daily basis with the fundamentals and importance of dance. A weekly invited class will take place in the afternoon on the last day of Week Two. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on the technique of learning new material as an ensemble.

Week Three focuses on solo/group work. Whether you choose this week singly or as part of the whole program, you will not be disappointed. As well as continuing the technique training that was offered in Week One and Week Two, Week Three will focus on the importance of being able to work on your own or in a group. Individual coaching will be available this week only. Daily schedule will include AM classes in music, dance, and acting and PM schedule will focus on solo/group work.

Weeks Four, Five, and Six are special and amazing weeks that will focus on putting together a live professional production. These weeks are not available as single week programs, as to accommodate best practices for a final performance. Most of these weeks will be devoted to rehearsal and production of final performance.

Classes during the Summer at Coupé session are structured for groups of students based on their age and experience in the performing arts. The curriculum and daily scheduling keeps campers busy from 10 am until 5 pm in class and workshops, with time for lunch.

Thespian Theatre Camp

As Mr. William Shakespeare said, "the play's the thing!"

In this craft based straight acting camp, Broadway performers work with budding thespians on scenes and monologues which will later be performed for family and friends at an exciting Off-Broadway Theatre in Manhattan!

Workshops with Broadway Actors:
When not in rehearsal for the Final Showcase, campers take one-hour workshops with Broadway actors all throughout the week.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. Each week will focus on a material or art historical theme (past summers have included: Surrealism, Printmaking, Folk art, and Drawing Techniques).
